-ACS National Chemistry Week, 23rd October 2010, Indiana University. Along with Dr. Carlson at IU, I designed and implemented a hands-on laboratory activity for ages GK-12 in which students extracted and identified pigments of different botanical sources. This outreach effort resulted in a publication.
-National Science Foundation GK-12, Partnerships for Research Opportunities to Benefit Education (PROBE) Fellowship, 2006-2007. The UNH PROBE project’s goals were to advance inquiry-based education at the high school level and to promote interest in math and science among prospective college students. As a fellow I was partnered with a 9th grade high school chemistry teacher and designed and implemented inquiry-based laboratory experiments with students.
-Students as Researchers Conference, UNH 2007. I participated in workshops in which high school science teachers were familiarized with the use of inquiry- based activities to promote science education.
-Science Technology Institute (STI) for High School Teachers, June 2006, Plymouth State College. I participated in workshops in which high school chemistry teachers were educated on the use of GC and HPLC instruments for the use in high school chemistry laboratory courses.
