Hi-Rez Studios, in Alpharetta, GA, has internship opportunities on several games and for multiple positions . The applications are due by the end of February and they will let applicants know of their decisions by beginning of April.

Their internships are open for Juniors, Seniors and recent grads…I don’t know if they are open for students who are entering Juniors. It is worth checking with them if this is of interest to you.
Adobe is sponsoring a movie poster competition. The winner of this competition gets their movie poster made into a short film and flown to LA to be present for the filming. It is due by the end of November.

This site is handy because you can look by cities and they will list companies and also show how many jobs each company has listed, so you don’t have to search through every company in a city to see if they are currently hiring.

Art or technology contractors are the direction many game companies are moving. Often there will be a core development team, but much of the work is outsourced. Be on the lookout for outsourcing companies.
Companies such as:
ArtCore Studios: Game Art and Concept Art Outsourcing. Currently has Character artist, 3D artist and Concept artist openings.
Art Bully Productions: Their website says they are always looking for good freelancers, so if you are interested, send them a CV/resume and a link to your portfolio
Virtuos Games: Several Job openings in art, programming and production
Zatun (India) has several openings for artists and designers.
Anshar Studios (Poland) has openings
N-iX (Ukraine and Poland) has mostly software engineer openings right now.
…..look up game production services. There are a lot of companies and many of them have an open call for freelance/contract developers to send them your resume and portfolio link.
The Madrid, Spain office of SPA studios has openings right now.
SPA Studios is a studio that does “Animation, Content & Visual Development, Character Design and Storyboarding. … clients include Netflix, Universal, Blue Sky, Warner and Disney among other industry leading companies.”
Leidos is global science and technology solutions developer for defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets. They are headquartered in Reston, VA, but they have offices around the world and numerous job openings for summer internships, co-ops that can be done while still in school, jobs for recent grads and hundreds of other jobs, many of them software engineer positions and some 3D artist positions (some requiring no professional experience but a degree in 3D art and animation).
